Josh Ritter
Born October 21, 1976, is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and author. In 2006 he was named one of the "100 Greatest Living Songwriters" by Paste magazine.
Over the course of his twenty year career, Nolan McKelvey has covered nearly every corner of the country and traversed all roads of Americana. From the paved roads of alt-country, to the gravel of bluegrass, to the dusty trails of outlaw-country, Nolan has covered a ton of ground and received critical acclaim along the way from Magazines like No Depression, Country Standard Time, The Boston Phoenix, The Boston Globe, and Performer Magazine among many others. He was named "Best Musician" by the readers of the Arizona Daily Sun and has been dubbed "One of the best songwriters in the southwest." (FlagLive)

Nolan has opened for luminaries of Americana like Leon Russell, Greg Brown, Peter Rowan, Odetta, Fred Eaglesmith, Los Lobos, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Tim O'Brien, and Jerry Douglas. He has opened for country, bluegrass, and singer-songwriter artists like Sugarland, Railroad Earth, Catie Curtis, Cowboy Junkies, Pat Green, Richard Buckner, Jack Johnson, Patterson Hood, Billy Currington, Gregory Alan Isakov, Cheryl Wheeler and the list goes on and on.

He performed in several bands in Boston, including: The Benders, The Resophonics, Kris Delmhorst, Bow Thayer, and his own 33. He was dubbed "Central to the (Boston) roots-rock revival" by WBUR radio. His bands won two Boston Music Awards (BMA) and were nominated for BMA's seven times in his five years in the city. Prior to living in Boston, he played with several national and regional touring bands including: The Joel Rafael Band (winner of Kerrville Folk Festival competition), San Diego, CA), Onus B. Johnson (Flagstaff, AZ), and Blew Willie (San Francisco, CA).

Nolan's studio credits include recording with Levon Helm (The Band), Dana Colley and Billy Conway (Morphine), Paul Q. Koldrie (Pixies, PJ Harvey, Radiohead and more), Jennifer Kimball (The Story, Wayfaring Strangers) among many others. Nolan's songs have appeared on sixteen releases to date, including: five solo, three with The Benders, four with Muskellunge Bluegrass, and four with former band Onus B. Johnson. Nolan's work as a bass player and harmony singer pushes the release list over sixty recordings.

He has performed at the Newport Folk Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Boston Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Sedona Bluegrass Festival and Pickin' in the Pines Acoustic Music Festival among many more. His music has aired on nationally syndicated radio shows like World Café, Nashville Bluegrass Breakdown, and Car Talk.

Nolan McKelvey is passionate writer and performer who genuinely loves writing and playing music. He has traveled on the all roads of Americana, and continues to bring his trademark energy to each performance. Nolan currently performs his own songs solo, with his Country band, The 6th C, and with Muskellunge all over the United States.
