Garage A Trois
Orpehum Theater
Doors 7/Show 8
$15/$18

Garage A Trois is a collaboration between four of the most visionary improvisers of the time: Skerik on saxophones, Mike Dillon on vibes, Marco Benevento on keyboards and Stanton Moore on drums. And while improvisation is at the heart of what this quartet has built its reputation on at their legendary New Orleans Jazzfest sets and rare, but in demand, club tours, it's the intricate sonic collages, tightly orchestrated arrangements and positively modern approach to instrumental songwriting that's at the heart of their latest album, Power Patriot.

Founded in 1997 in the shadows of the Golden Dome of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, Umphrey's McGee soon made Chicago home base, and set their sights on becoming one of the premier live acts in today's touring circuit. Over the course of the last ten years, the band has performed at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and continues to sell out shows in the nation's premier venues coast to coast. They have toured Europe multiple times and performed at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival in 2006. As their sound evolves with every passing show, the live concerts sold on their expansive music archive site UMLive.net continue to be in high demand by their hungry fan base. The second decade of Umphrey's McGee is fueled with Mantis in the tank, and the band shows no signs of letting up.

Colin Hay
Orpheum Theater
Doors 7/Show 8
$22/$25

As the singer, guitarist, and main songwriter of Australia's Men at Work, Colin Hay was responsible for penning several of the quirkiest pop hits of the early '80s. Hay continued to release solo material with regularity throughout the '90s, including such titles as 1990's Wayfaring Sons, 1992's Peaks & Valleys, 1994's Topanga, and 1998's Transcendental Highway. Hay also toured with Ringo Starr in the summer of 2003, as part of the former Beatles drummer's annual All Starr Band.

Dr. Dog with Here We Go Magic
Orpheum Theater
Doors 7/Show 8
$18-$20

The Philadelphia-based Dr. Dog are part of a long tradition of D.I.Y. pop oddballs who blend unapologetic '60s pop worship with lo-fi recording techniques and an apparent disregard for current trends.
